Distant Dominican communities get 12 energy projects

The Dominican state-owned electrical companies, through the Rural Electrification Unit (UERS), inaugurated 12 energy projects in San Juan de la Maguana province (west), at a cost of more than RD$39 million.
UERS president Heny Meran, who headed the ribbon-cutting, said the projects benefit 1,602 families, which awaited the service for years.
The new facilities include at upgrade from the community Guanito to Arroyo Cano, from two-phase to three-phase, the electrification of the communities El Naranjo, El Hoyo and La Jagua , in Las Matas de Farfán.
Also inaugurated was the rebuilt electrical system of Los Rincones and Suarez, the districts La Altagracia and Roncito, and the section Valle Hondito.
