The Northern Caribbean Fiber Dominicana (NCF Dominicana) said Dominican Republic will join the undersea cables network connecting the Caribbean region with global Internet communication to broaden access options and lower costs.
NCF Dominicana's cable is part of a larger project to establish and manage an undersea cables network, starting with Guadeloupe Island to link the entire Caribbean , with the support of the World Bank, the European Community, among others.
The project gives the country a new path for high-capacity Internet, brings more competition to the market, which would lower prices for customers, through a 4-pair fiber optic cable.
