Dominican President, senior officials look for ways to face crises

For almost six hours President Leonel Fernandez met with the Government's economic and energy area officials to analyze and discuss measures to take in the coming days, aimed at confronting the energy problem and the situation brought on by the constant rises in oil prices.

The Head of State scheduled separate meetings with the farming, industry and commerce sectors and the Energy Commission.

Fernandez began a cycle of meetings with Government, aimed at drafting an Integral Development Plan, to confront the diverse aspects related to the world's food and fuel price crises.

The Presidency's Press Office will issue a statement.

The press release states that a diagnosis will be developed, which will serve to adopt the pertinent measures aimed at confronting the country's challenges from the crises.

Economic Cabinet ministers and officials and technicians from the different energy and electricity agencies attended, among others.
