As onlookers cheer, Dominican capital’s Metro makes first test run

The Dominican capital’s Metro (subway) began the preparatory stage of its route, with a test conducted with the presence of technicians of Madrid’s Metro.

The Transit Reform Office (OPRET) said the modern transport system made its first successful run across the Isabela river bridge, in north Santo Domingo.
Onlookers cheered as the cars crossed the bridge northward and reached Mirabal Sisters Station, where workers and officials applauded and celebrated.
