Dominican Republic meets world Labor standards, official says

The International Labor Organization's (ILO) Standards Committee accepted as valid the annual report submitted by the Labor Ministry (SET) on the country's progress on labor issues.
Labor minister Ramon Fadul, who submitted the report to the 97th of the International Labor Conference meeting, said there are 38 representatives throughout the country to enforce the law against work discrimination on grounds of sex, age, race, color, nationality, ethnic and social origin, political view, trade union membership and religious belief.
He said in the area of child labor and in its worst forms, Dominican Republic , through the SET, managed to help 23,300 children and adolescents last year, through education programs.
