Dominican investment climate "extraordinary,” Cisneros says

Venezuelan media baron Gustavo Cisneros last night said Dominican Republic's investment climate is "extraordinary," and that president Leonel Fernandez is the Head of State who most of knows economy in the Latin American countries.

He said Dominican Republic is Latin America 's fastest-growing economy and the government's economic team in extraordinary in economic matters. "The economic atmosphere for the next few years is very good here and I believe that from the numbers I've seen from organisms abroad and the Central Bank, the growth of Santo Domingo is going to be between a 5 percent and 8 percent per year."

Cisneros, speaking to the press in the National Palace after meeting for almost one hour with Fernandez, said he always makes a courtesy visit to the president and was told of "very good projects that the leader is carrying out."

Also present in the meeting was former U.S. ambassador in the country, Hans Hertell.
